Re: Pot Recommendation for VIC
Hi Jose
Here is my idea, it is a tradional shaped pot but with a bit of a difference.
The pot would have an unglazed band at the top and bottom, this would be coloured with metal oxides and would be rusty browns. The middle section of the pot would be glazed in a blue/green /dark grey glaze. Now we come to the bit that will make the pot really unique and also tell a story about the conditions the tree would of developed in.
A tree like this would grow on the edge of a rocky clif or mountain side. So i would carve the left side of the pot to represent these rugged conditions of nature that would create a tree growing in this style.
I think the size of pot that you have it in at present is just right. So the pot would have 20cm diameter and a depth of approx 8cm.

Re: Pot Recommendation for VIC
This is the importance of having a master bonsai pots artisan with good vision as an advisor, the recommendation of Vic properly suits the image this elm evokes to us, like a natural tree in the edge of a rocky clif or mountain side. I also like the color suggestion, as they contrasts harmoniously with the color and texture of the bark of the elm.
