Ficus salicaria banyan style

I have had this tree for a little under 3 years now. I purchased it as a small and thin tree with little taper but I did notice that it had potential. I immediately potted that small tree into the container that you see below. It has been in that same container for 3 years but I have root pruned it 3 times. The tree has grown significantly in these 3 years. I have developed the nebari by keeping it in this shallow container and I have also put a paver underneath it. I just recently started encouraging aerial roots to develop and have decided to grow it in the banyan style. I defoliate it once a year but for the most part I just hedge prune it to develop ramification. I would like to have many more aerial roots and plan on keeping it in this container for another 2 years before putting it in a true bonsai pot.

Hi Lazaro

Good tree with a good base. You must work and shorten branching foliage. You have finer branches down as above, with the time you correct them. We need to wire the branches before fattening. Got a good tree to work.
